The team set off back towards Datdūm, but as night fell they decided to make camp for the evening. Their sleep was disrupted by the arrival of a large arcane powered train. The conductor called them aboard, saying that they had been invited to a Tsava Day celebration. Balthazar was able to recognize that Tsava day was a Lupwuian holiday in which parents hide gifts from their children who have to find them in order to receive whatever the gifts are.

The team boarded the train and headed off towards the celebration.

While Arthur and Tyosa slept, the other three members of the group (Aanso, Balthazar, and Kesua), moved to the dining cart where they were treated to a wide variety of foods, largely of a dessert nature including pies, cookies, and candies with nougat centers. They were immediately offered mugs of hot chocolate upon entry entry into the cabin, and they each took these willingly.

Eventually, the conductor came in and told the members of the group (and the other passengers in the dining cart) the story of Tsava day. He explained that Tsava Day is a holiday celebrated primarily in the Lupwuian Tundra. In Lupwuia, they celebrate Emdu, the goddess of Water, Winter, and Wisdom.

The story goes that, after a particularly hard winter, the people of Lupwuia still remained loyal to Emdu and didn’t turn their backs on her. She decided to have an outpouring of gifts to show her favor to her faithful. She told her priests when and where the outpouring was to occur, so that they could gather the people to receive their blessings.

However, Emdu’s closest friend is Pruki, the goddess of trickery, good, and thieves. Pruki shows her affection through mischief and therefore decided to meddle with Emdu’s celebration. Pruki sent her avatar to steal Emdu’s gifts, only returning them once he had been caught by the people the gifts were intended for.

It is rumored that the goddesses continued this tradition for many years, but these days it goes differently. Now parents purchase gifts for their children and hide the gifts throughout their house. The kids search for the gifts and rejoice in opening them once they are found.

After telling them the story, the conductor bid them to enjoy the celebration and left. Not long after, a supernatural sleep overtook Aanso, Balthazar, and Kesua.

The trio awoke back in the passenger cabin of the train. While it had once been full of people, it was now empty. Even their friends, Tyosa and Arthur, were nowhere to be seen.

Looking out the window, they could see a mountainous frozen landscape flying by at increasing speeds. The train hit a curve and tipped onto only one side of the train’s wheels for a moment before tipping back.

Faster and faster the train went, and it was already at dangerous speeds. They knew if it wasn't stopped, it would crash.

Moving into the dining cart, they found the table stacked with clean plates and silverware. As they passed through the cart, the train hit another curve. Silverware flew at one side of the cart, with a fork narrowly stabbing Kesua as they moved.

The next cart after the dining cart was another passenger cart. The windows here were open, and freezing cold air blew in from outside. Balthzar cloaked himself in flames and was able to keep the group warm as they crossed through he cabin.

In the following cart, there was a large decorated tree. All around the room were gifts wrapped in various colored papers and labeled "Do not open until Tsava Day." The group opted not to open these gifts, but they found that a swarm of humming bugs (Hum Bugs) broke through the windows and began to throw the gifts outside the train.

At last they reached the engine cart of the train, which had a complex series of mechanical and arcane controls directing it. Balthazar attempted to get the train to stop, but ended up breaking off one of the control leavers.

Kesua ended up teleporting the group out of the train and to safety. They found themselves in a frozen landscape with a arcane-lit house ahead of them. As they entered the house, Balthazar began exploring and ended up slipping on grease and landing on a well-hidden bear trap. Once this happened, the group was attacked by a figure in a red hood-the avatar of Pruki. Almost immediately he threw a brick at them which incapacitated Kesua.

Aanso healed Kesua while Balthazar chased the figure up the stairs of the house, summoning a fire elemental to help in the pursuit. The trio chased the figure throughout the house, facing numerous and various traps as they did so. (Were they from our world, they would have found the house to have the same layout as the home from a popular holiday movie called Home Alone.) In the end, however, they managed to corner the figure. He threw off his cloak, and shrunk as the magical disguise faded, revealing himself to be Feste.

Feste then presented the group with a series of presents, asking each member to choose one. The first gift was a small package with blue wrapping and tied with a silver bow. The second was a short black package tied with black ribbon. The third was a small red package with red ribbon. The fourth was a package wrapped with brown paper that had icons of trees on it and tied with a yellow bow. The fifth package was a large golden package tied with a golden ribbon. The sixth was a red package tied with a white bow. The seventh was an orange package with a white ribbon. The seventh was a green package tied with a purple bow.

Kesua chose the sixth package (red with white bow), and found a red hat accented with white fur within. This had would bestow the blessing of good luck (and a white beard) upon whoever wore it and gave worthy gifts to others.

Balthazar chose the fifth package (gold with gold ribbon), and found an identical package inside. As he drew this package out, the first one disappeared and the identical one grew just a little to be the same size as the original. He was able to continue this process several times before determining that it would go on indefinitely.

Aanso picked the third package (red with red ribbon), and found inside a small red ball that, when squeezed, would follow the user giving off red light.
