The Mūsūyyan Arcanification Celebration was in full swing. Arcanification is the process by which a town is given arcane energy via a complex system of arcane crystals and connections set up by the League of Arcanists. Through this process, citizens of a town are able to draw energy from the arcanified town in order to power arcanium devices which include everything from streetlamps to household appliances to really almost anything that the mind can imagine.

Mūsūyya is a small town in the Mount Yunnup region of Tsud'uula. (It is not actually a town upon Mount Yunnup, but it exists in the surrounding plains.)

Aanso decided to enter the mage's tournament, being hosted by J'uuhw of the Mage's Order. He dueled against Kismo, who fought against him with radiant attacks. He was able to teleport her out of the arena, gaining victory. Aanso went on to win the mage's duel tournament, and was rewarded with a pendant.

Arthur had found the inn that the person he was looking for was supposed to be staying at, but no one had seen her thus far that day. Presumably, she was busy helping with the celebration. He went to the League of Arcanists information booth where he talked with Suuldaa about the Arcanification process and asked about Molly Sadler.

Balthazar went to Mūsūyya Temple, a temple dedicated primarily to the worship of Nyud, the god of radiance, where he spoke with Dokkyum about the deceased and the afterlife. Dokkyum suggested that Balthazar may be more interested in the teachings of Jeba, the goddess of death, law, and language.

Kesua went to the Broken Stein Tavern where she listened for rumors of the goings on in town. She was greeted by Itbi, the tavern's owner. While there, Kesua heard rumors that attacks from Robots had been getting worse in the area lately. She also heard that the blacksmith's apprentice (Nwuj) had been trying to court a local girl (Kismo), but that she had denied his advances. Kesua also learned that the daughter of the owner of the Crooked Arrow Bar had gone missing a couple days ago, but that people didn't seem too worried about this yet.

The evening's ceremony was conducted by Mūsūyya's mayor, Otyo; and a manager of the League of Arcanists, Yandi. Various winners of the festival's contests were recognized, including Aanso as the winner of the Mage's Order's magic duel tournament and Kismo as the winner of the Crooked Arrow's archery contest. The large crystal that had been put in the Mūsūyya Tower glowed and illuminated the lamps and other arcane devices around the city. Then, there was a shift in the air and one by one the devices went dark. Red crystals formed around the tower's upper floor.

Entering the tower, Aanso, Arthur, Balthazar, and Kesua found themselves faced with a creature reminiscent of the Living Crystals of long ago. They battled these creatures as they ascended the tower. On their way, they found that Kismo had gotten farther up the tower ahead of them, but had been knocked out in fighting the creatures. Aanso provided her with healing, and she revealed that she had the ability to teleport in a flash of light. She joined the others as they continued to ascend the tower.

Reaching the top, the group found Ubna standing beside the giant crystal that was central to the Arcanification process. She said something about trying something again, but was mostly cryptic. The crystal shattered, and, as it did, the group were transported somewhere else.
