The Shadow Essence

Not quite a person, but not quite a thing either, the Shadow Essence is a primordial force that has existed potentially longer than the multiverse itself. It is unclear the full extent of the Shadow Essence's powers, as it seems to have odd limitations and rules which it must follow for interacting with the material plane. The Shadow Essence seems capable of reading the surface thoughts of those around it.

It is known that Alal currently hosts an instance of the Shadow Essence, and that this is where some of his powers are drawn from.

The Shadow Essence also has access to shadowpaths which exist in a non-material space and which can be used to travel between its instances within the material world.

The Shadow Essence seems to want to gain more hosts and spread across the world. It has an apparent goal of bringing about desolation, for a thus-unknown reason.

It has claimed that it may soon reach an arrangement with Vinka.
