Halvard Vezen is the husband and guardian of Claire Vezen. From the small world of Desmos, Halvard had a simple childhood that was disrupted by the 'civilized' worlds of the Sparkling Band coming to Desmos and introducing it to the wider multiverse.

The wars of Petharchia spilled over into Desmos. Because he was of fighting age and physically fit, he was brought into the wars and trained to fight with all manners of weapons. When he left the war, he offered his services as a bodyguard and guardian for anyone who could afford what he'd charge. And people seemed willing to pay a lot.

Eventually, his path collided with that of Claire in Innleet. He fell in love with her deeply and at once. Once she was Chosen, he fought for the ability to remain by her side, becoming her accepted guardian.
