My regular group has been playing Electric Bastionland. For more information about Bastionland and our current campaign, check out the other posts in this series:
Or check out the blog of Bastionland's creator, here.

    My Player Characters:

    1. Zastra, a failed practising chemist. He has a long knife, a flask of Never-Melting Crushed ice, and a test tube of liquid that can make an object look gold.
    2. Rades, a failed corpse collector. He has an axe, a wheelbarrow, a plunger, a hand that follows him around and listens to basic instructions, a small Companion Ball that follows him and can store small items, and a Forge of Reconstruction.
    3. J.R. Pufnstuf, a failed mendicant mycologist (studies fungus). He has a khukuri, a mushroom cap hat, a pouch of salty moss, and a mushroom that induces sleep and causes nightmares. He also has a stave of red oil, which drops oil on the ground, making it slick around. He can walk through mirrors.
Iah, the failed rural tax collector; Percy, the failed noble-in-waiting; and Salacia, the failed wilderness recluse, were mysteriously absent from this outing.

    Part 4: The Trousers

"The Trousers are in the private collection of curiosity collector, Seymora Flounce. She has a legion of inept servants trying to find the other pieces." (Electric Bastionland, pg 321)

Alaine Crevatte informed the team that they had actually encountered one of Seymora's agents already: Spindella, a mock spider who had competed against them for the Shirt in the tournament in the team's first excursion.

They are told that Seymora Flounce resides in her mansion in Venmagnus Borough, and set out without hesitation.

    The Flounce Estate

The Flounce estate has something that is rare for properties within Bastion: a yard. Its vibrant green grass and lush trees are visible from well beyond the gate that blocks the property off from the rest of Venmagnus Borough.

Guarding the gate is a large mock rhino who is reading a large leather-bound book. Further inspection from Zastra reveals that the book is a book of Bastion's laws. The group sneaks past him unnoticed and begins to cross the yard to the Flounce Estate.

As they cross, they see a mock lobster tending to the trees in the yard, but they manage to avoid it. In front of the large mansion is a large shed. Investigating the shed, the group finds that it mostly has gardening supplies, although it also contains a Jaw Axe (Electric Bastionland, pg 257) which Zastra takes.

The team entered the mansion from a side entrance into the house's library. The library connected to the dining room, and looking inside they saw members of the house staff (a mock bear, a mock spider, and a human) setting out tables. The found another doorway from the library leading to a hall north of the dining room. As they passed through this hall, they heard gunshots that sounded like they came from the dining area.

The group found a set of stairs in the back of the house and ascended them to the second floor. In a display case here, J.R. found a Hypermushroom, a purely hypothetical mushroom that can be eaten to resolve paradoxes.

Crossing an upstairs living room, the group found another stairway going back down at the front of the house. At the landing of the stairs, they saw a member of the estate's staff on the ground, and a thug standing guard nearby. They backed into the living room and found a maid coming into the living room from a side hall.

Addressing the maid, Zastra convinced her that there were other intruders in the house and that she should go get help.

The group heard footsteps ascending the stairs they had come up, and they ducked into another room. After a few moments, they heard another gunshot.

    The Revolutionary Duelist

Checking the living room again, they saw the body of the maid who they had sent to get help, and standing over her they saw to figures. One was Sabeyetta, the gunslinger who had tried to ambush them after they had won the Shirt.

These figures went into a doorway opposite the room where the team was hiding. After waiting a moment, the team approached that door slowly, trying to stealthily follow Sabeyetta and her companion.

On the other side of the door was a long hall with several other doors. Sabeyetta and her companion were nowhere to be seen.

Checking one door, the group found an ordinary-looking bedroom. Searching the drawers revealed an amulet which had the power to create a stone wall, which J.R. took, but little else of interest.

As they were leaving the room back into the hall, Sabeyetta and her companion were leaving their room as well. Zastra tried to run back into the bedroom, but Sabeyetta's bullet caught him and dealt critical damage. J.R. and Rades attacked Sabeyetta, knocking her down. Her companion shot down Rades, but J.R. took him down in turn.

J.R. finished off Sabeyetta and her companion, and he tended to his companions wounds. With the team rested, they continued their search.

    Becoming Lies

In searching the house, J.R., Rades, and Zastra found a room with staff uniforms which they proceeded to change into. Eventually, they found a mock bird who, upon finding the bodies of her fallen coworkers, wanted to warn Seymora of the intruders to their estate.

The team convinced the mock bird that they should protect the trousers while she warned Seymora, and so the bird told them where the trousers were. The team went and grabbed the trousers and didn't look back.

Having received critical injuries, Rades and Zastra would need tending to after the mission. Only four pieces left to collect of the nine piece suit!

I'll try to keep you updated as the Quest for the Nine Piece Suit continues.
